Black on Black, styling Steve Madden pieces

Updated: Apr 17, 2020

The early Springtime wind in Chicago is adjacent to the beautifully piercing tint of blue as these pumps. Though the birds ’ song has commenced and the Sun shows face more often, Winter ‘ s chill will be slithering down our spines until May. That is simply the tedious dance of the turning seasons in the Windy City.

Initially when I was contacted by NylonMagazine to style a few pieces from Steve Madden’s new collection It was a no-brainer Yes.

As I took a closer look at the line sheet I saw many pretty pastels and a plethora of open toe options. I at first wanted to select these gorgeous Blue heeled mule sandals, but I had to be realistic. It’s STILL 30 degrees here.

So, I went with a classic court pump in baby blue and a faux croc embossing. Just loud enough, just elegant enough for me.

After selecting a shoe, I had to make a decision on a handbag. I wanted to be practical because the shoe was already a show stopper. I set my heart on this convertible baguette clutch that has an option of a long slender strap.

Once I made my selections I knew I wanted to keep the rest of the looks simple and timeless. My partner and I hit up one of our favorite thrifts that has a half off day. I scored this Hugo Buscati dress for $8, and y’all know Mama Badu Clever came to my head.

From here I just needed to decide on a jacket. I chose this Urban Outfitters leather jacket. The rest is history 🖤🖤🖤🖤
